I guess there is a tiny (more like minuscule) amount of satisfaction in completing the entire 40 weeks of pregnancy. It's almost like I can now tie a little bow around it and check off the last little box. What would be even MORE satisfying is if she came right on her due date(!!) but I doubt that will happen. So my doctor is out of town this week and my next appointment isn't scheduled until Monday, which is 5 days past my due date. I have done a lot of thinking and decided I will ask to be induced if I don't have her on my own by then. I know there are a lot of different opinions on evicting a baby before he/she is "ready", but I have talked to a lot of people about it and in my situation (mainly my mom leaving next Friday, who we really need to be with Ashton when we are at the hospital, and we would like her to meet the baby too!) but also from what I have heard people say about the placenta becoming weaker over time and the baby growing to a ridiculous size which could result in a c-section, etc. I am absolutely positive that I am at least 40 weeks pregnant. If anything, more than that, but definitely not less (based on when I got my first pregnancy symptoms and how early I was showing), so there is no question about her being at all under-developed. I was induced with Ashton and it went very well, considering the pre-eclampsia complications. Also, because I was already 2 cm dilated over a week ago and have had a LOT of discomfort since then, I am hoping I made even more progress on my own. I am going to continue to walk and get on my yoga ball for the next few days and hope to get started on my own, but if I don't, that's the plan! So maybe there is an end nearby after all! Hopefully I will not be putting a "41 Weeks Pregnant" post on this blog next week and the next thing you will see is a birth announcement. :)
I am very excited to meet this little girl and see what she looks like. We have everything we need for her now, so it will be lovely when she comes.
Baby size: Jackfruit
My weight: Up 46 lbs since pre-pregnancy
