1 Week Old

Our first week with Aurélia has been really wonderful. She is an incredibly easy baby! Ever since the day she was born, she has easily spent 22 hours a day sleeping. It was difficult the first couple days to get her to eat, especially since my milk hadn't come in yet and she was too tired to care about the colostrum. She had her first doctor's appointment 2 days after birth and had lost 13 oz so they had me schedule another appointment for Wednesday. Fortunately, my milk came in and she ate a LOT! I think the first night she ate every hour, which was exhausting, but by the time we returned to the doctor she had gained back 4 oz, which is great. Since then, she has gone back to mostly sleeping again, but is getting a lot when she does eat. She never ever cries. She grunts and makes noises when she needs something, but is really happy and calm and seems comfortable to sleep in any position. Adjustment for her big brother has been a bit rough (he doesn't like to share Mama), but just in the last couple days he has started to kiss her head. I love my little family. :)
